VJ Animation Loop
Bringing the beats to the big screen. Lookin At Me is one of the many animation loops I created during my time as a VJ performing at music festivals all across Australia. This 45-second clip was originally drawn in Adobe Illustrator and animated in After Effects. I was inspired by the rhythmic, hypnotic beats of the Chrome Sparks song by the same name and wanted to build something that felt like the music looked.
There is actually a bit of functional UX logic behind the visuals here too. I deliberately left the background black so the loop would look great on its own but also give me the flexibility to layer other videos underneath it during a live set. It was a fun exercise in designing for a loud, fast-moving environment where you have to think on your feet.
